Children’s and Family Time —

December is a busy month but you want to make sure and set some time aside to bring your children into the library. Children need a chance to sit and listen to a story, pick out a book by themselves and work at the craft table where there is always something to color and create. Our Wednesday morning Story Time continues to be popular with children and parents and this month offers a variety of winter themes. Continuing with our alphabet we are learning the letter “D”. Dashing through the snow, December deer (reindeer that is), deck the halls and more decorations, dollhouses, dump trucks and drums. Please join us on Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30 am (December 7, 14, 21, and 28).

Hope you were able to join us December 1 for our Family Time. We offered a program from 5-7 pm with stories, crafts and refreshments. Watch for notices about our next program.

The library has e-readers to lend. They can circulate for two (2) weeks. These can be used to download books available from Overdrive downloadable books. There is no fee involved — one just goes to the site and if the book is available it can be downloaded for two (2) weeks. Further information will be found at the library.

Book Talk by Betty

Thrillers are not one of my favorite reads. So James Patterson is not an author I usually read (with a few exceptions). So when the book “Christmas Wedding” came out I decided to see what Mr. Patterson was going to do with that subject. What he did was write a great story just perfect for the Christmas season.

Archer Mayor has a hit with his newest book “Tag Man.” The story line made me wonder if anyone was wandering around in the house while I slept. It was a good read.

DVDS: Cars 2, Water for Elephants, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, Atlas Shrugged Part 1

CDs: Night Strangers, Christmas Wedding, The Litigators, The Affair

Watch for the magazine giveaway the end of December.
