By Bill Goodwin —
The Monadnock United Way (MUW) kicked off the 2011-2012 campaign on September 8th at the Colonial Theater in Keene. Through a very rigorous allocations process, it was determined that we needed to raise a total of $2,339,067 to meet the MUW commitment to the agency programs in the Monadnock region. Here in Dublin, our goal was $7,708.
I am pleased to announce that effective November 15th, we have raised $7,989 or 104% of our goal and still have a couple of businesses that may come through with a donation.
I would like to recognize the extraordinary effort and generosity of the employees and management of Yankee Publishing who raised a total of $6,234. Thank you so much.
I also want to thank my team of Barbara Summers, Margaret Gurney and Nancy Jackson for their help with making the campaign calls on many of the other businesses in town.
The following is a listing of the Dublin businesses that contributed to our campaign:
Yankee Publishing Inc., Dublin School, Simpson Landscape Company, The Friendly Farm, MEI Search Consultants, Life Safety Fire Protection, Michael Walker Inc, Niemela Design, Peter Pap Oriental Rugs, Dublin Health & Benefit Group, Knights Auto Body, DelRossi’s Restaurant, Gammy Bird Consulting, She’s So Fine Hair Design, Harvest Thyme Herbs, Life Safety Fire Protection employees, Francis McKenna Woodworking, The Countryhouse Corner, Farmer John’s Plot, Dublin General Store, Hedge House, Morning Star Maple, New York Life Insurance Rep.
MUW agencies have provided help 451 times to Dublin residents in 2010. Usage Usage will likely be higher this year and next year because of the bad economic times. About 90% of the funds received go toward MUW agency programming.
